Unser Ansatz

Wir lieben es, Sprachen zu unterrichten! Unserer Ansicht nach geht es beim
Sprachenlernen, um mehr als nur Aufgaben zu erledigen oder Grammatik zu lernen. Der Fokus in der Academia KUNZ liegt auf Kommunikation und praktischer Anwendung. Durch mehrjährige Erfahrung wissen wir, wie wichtig es ist, dass die TeilnehmerInnen sich sofort wohlfühlen und sich gleich trauen zu sprechen. Unser Unterricht findet hauptsächlich in Kleingruppen statt, damit es den Lernenden leichter fällt, die Sprachbarriere zu überwinden und wir auf die Bedürfnisse jedes Einzelnen eingehen können.

Wenn wir Sprachen unterrichten, bauen wir „Brücken“. So fühlen wir uns zumindest, wenn sich Menschen verschiedener Herkunft miteinander verständigen können. Wir helfen auch dabei, neue Wege zu entdecken, indem man zum Beispiel seine Arbeitsmöglichkeiten durch unsere Kurse erweitert. Wir sind zufrieden, wenn Sie vor Ort Anschluss finden. Wir teilen mit Ihnen die Leidenschaft, die wir für diese Insel empfinden. Wir freuen uns, wenn unsere SchülerInnen Prüfungen bestehen und wir sie beim Lernprozess begleiten durften. Wir sind stolz darauf, dass unsere TeilnehmerInnen selbstsicherer werden und Alltagsprobleme dank erworbener Sprachkenntnisse überwinden. All das und vieles mehr motiviert uns bei unserer Arbeit!

Wir bemühen uns um eine gemütliche Atmosphäre, empfangen Sie mit einem Glas Wasser und einem Lächeln, umgeben von wundervollen Kunstwerken verschiedener Maler. Das Meer, unsere Liebe für die Natur und Tierwelt und unsere Bemühungen für Nachhaltigkeit prägen unser Arbeitsklima. Deshalb gestalten wir unseren Arbeitsalltag so nachhaltig wie möglich. Unser Anliegen ist, das Bewusstsein über saubere Ozeane und über bedrohte Meerestiere zu stärken und Initiativen vor Ort bekannt zu machen.

Räumlichkeiten und Lehrinhalte

Alle Räumlichkeiten sind mit audiovisuellen Geräten ausgestattet und die Möbel sind extra für Kleingruppenunterricht nachhaltig handgefertigt. Wir garantieren unseren TeilnehmerInnen, dass man bei uns das Verstehen und vor allem das Sprechen, also Konversation übt. Unser Team besteht aus dynamischen, engagierten LehrerInnen, mit
höchsten Qualifikationen in Philologie und Didaktik und langjähriger Erfahrung im Fremdsprachenunterricht.

Unsere Materialien sind lebendig. Damit meinen wir, dass wir uns an kein fixes einziges Lehrwerk halten, sondern immer wieder neue Materialien erstellen oder aus verschiedenen Lehrbüchern entnehmen, welche gezielt auf die Ansprüche der Gruppe passen.

Wir nehmen uns Zeit für Sie. Unsere Einheit dauert nicht wie üblich 45 Minuten, sondern 60 Minuten. Nebenher betreuen wir Sie auch bei organisatorischen Fragen, bei Fragen zum Unterricht und korrigieren außerhalb der Unterrichtsstunde die Hausaufgaben. Wenn Sie in einer Gruppe sind, dann können Sie auch mit den anderen TeilnehmerInnen per WhatsApp in einem Chat in Kontakt treten. Dort werden Tipps, Materialien und manchmal sogar nette Informationen über Freizeitaktivitäten in Fuerteventura geteilt.

Lage

Fuerteventura ist der beste Ort, um Spanisch zu lernen und die Kultur der Kanarischen Inseln kennenzulernen. Vor allem in Corralejo erleben Besucher einen multikulturellen Alltag und können sich auf Spanisch austauschen und neue Kontakte knüpfen. Einheimische gelten generell als sehr herzlich und offen. Außerdem ist Corralejo nicht mit großen Hotels überlastet und man kann zu Fuß überall hingehen. Unsere Akademie ist sehr zentral gelegen, 5 Minuten in Gehweite vom Strand und vom Hafen entfernt. In der Pause können Sie sich mit einer Tasse Kaffee auf dem Plaza Grande oder am Hafen entspannen oder zusammen einen Ausflug in ein Café machen und dort in einem authentischen Ambiente lernen. Mitten im Dünenparadies befindet sich unsere wunderschöne Oase vor türkisblauem Meer.

Alina Kunz

Direktorin und Kursleiterin

Alina wurde in Wien geboren, ihr Vater kam aus Argentinien und ihre Mutter ist Auslandsschweizerin aus Österreich. Alina zog als Kind durch Lateinamerika und Europa. Ihre Eltern entdeckten in den 70er Jahren Fuerteventura, eine naturbelassene Insel, und ließen sich dort nieder. Somit wuchs Alina zwischen zwei Welten auf, zweisprachig auf den Kanarischen Inseln und immer wieder mit längeren Aufenthalten in Wien und in der Schweiz. In Wien absolvierte sie ihr Studium als Magistra in spanischer und italienischer Philologie und Lehramt, sowie als DaF-Lehrerin. Die praktischen Kenntnisse gewann sie in Sprachschulen in der Schweiz, Volkshochschulen in Deutschland und Österreich und am Goethe-Institut in Madrid.

Da Alina als junge Frau in Fuerteventura mehrsprachig war, konnte sie miterleben, wie schwierig das Leben für die Einheimischen war, weil sie kein Englisch und kein Deutsch konnten. Sie hatte Freundinnen, die die Schule abbrechen mussten und deren einzige Zukunftschancen Putzen und Tomaten-Anpflanzen waren. Da sie keine Fremdsprachenkenntnisse besaßen, gelangten sie nicht an andere Arbeitsplätze gelangten. Dann gab es deutschsprachige Einwanderer, die Anpassungsschwierigkeiten hatten und keinen sozialen Anschluss fanden, weil sie kein Spanisch konnten. Alina befand sich als Teenager in einem Touristen-Paradies, wo es zwar viel an Freizeitangebot gab, aber kaum Raum für Bildung oder Weiterbildung. Sie verließ die Insel mit 17 Jahren und versprach sich selbst, eines Tages Teil der Lösung für diese Probleme zu werden.

Academia Kunz ist mehr als eine Sprachschule. Es ist ein Ort der Kreativität, Kommunikation und Projektgestaltung. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Lehrerin hat Alina ein Schulprojekt gegründet und besucht seit 2017 öffentliche Schulen und Sommercamps, um den Kindern und Jugendlichen die Liebe zur Natur, in Form eines didaktischen Erlebnis-Seminars, nahezubringen. Auch Malkurse haben in der Schule stattgefunden, mit der internationalen Malerin Elena Lanz. Vorträge mit bis zu 25 Zuschauern werden seit 2015 kostenlos gehalten, in verschiedensten Themenbereichen wie “Das Leben auf dem Mars”, “Delfine, die Freiheit der Ozeane”, “Afrikanische Frauen in Fuerteventura”, “Der Hai: ohne Haie kein Leben im Meer”, “Hacker und Sicherheit in den sozialen Medien”. Einen kleinen Bereich in ihrer Schule hat sie hergerichtet für Pilates, Massagen und Tanzkurse. Außerdem kooperierte die Schule in diversen Krisensituationen mit Hilfsorganisationen, wie das rote Kreuz. Dies war 2019 und 2020 der Fall, als Migranten aus Afrika über den Atlantik kamen. Die Schule wurde ein Jahr lang als Sammelstelle genutzt und mithilfe der Freiwilligen Helfer konnten Babyartikel, Kleidung und Nahrungsmittel verteilt werden. Alinas Schule ist ihr zweites Zuhause geworden und für ihren Umkreis zum Treffpunkt für den Entwurf einer nachhaltigeren, gesünderen und glücklicheren Lebensweise.

Im Mittelpunkt ihres Lebens stehen ihr Sohn Erik, die Liebe zum Meer und die Liebe für Hunde. Sie hat selbst Hunde und hat auch einigen Tierhilfsorganisationen auf der Insel unter die Arme gegriffen. Sie tanzt gerne und ihr absolutes Lieblingshobby ist Schnorcheln und Apnea-Tieftauchen. Sie trainiert Sportarten der Selbstverteidigung und setzt sich gerne für Frauenrechte ein. Neben der Schule leitet sie seit 2015 die Umweltorganisation Limpiaventura und organisiert Strandreinigungen und Events.

Montses Motto lautet „Mach deine Leidenschaft zu deinem Beruf“ und fasst ihren beruflichen Werdegang sehr gut zusammen. Schon in jungen Jahren träumte sie davon, die Welt zu bereisen und anderen Menschen Spanisch beizubringen. Deshalb studierte sie an der Universität ihrer Heimatstadt Barcelona, wo sie einen Abschluss in Hispanistik und später einen Master als ELE-Lehrerin machte. Die Akkreditierung als DELE-Prüferin des Cervantes-Instituts war die letzte Etappe ihrer Ausbildung zur Lehrerin, die, wie Montse sagt, nie wirklich zu Ende geht, da man bei jedem Kurs, bei jedem Schüler etwas Neues lernt und gezwungen ist, sich immer wieder neu zu erfinden, Materialien zu erstellen und den Umgang mit neuen Technologien zu lernen. Das ist es, was sie an ihrem Beruf am meisten mag: dass jeder Tag, jede Klasse anders ist.  Nachdem sie 18 Jahre lang mit Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen in Barcelona, Mallorca, Fuerteventura, Tahiti und Mayotte gearbeitet hat, ist sie nun zur Kunz Akademie zurückgekehrt, die seit ihrer Eröffnung Teil ihres Lebens ist. Bereits 2015 war Montse an der Seite von Alina Kunz, um sie mit ihrem Wissen und ihrer fröhlichen Art und Lebensfreude zu unterstützen und 2024 ist sie zurück, um mit ihr in Corralejo zu arbeiten. Mit Montse zu unterrichten bedeutet, vorwärtszugehen, als Mensch gesehen zu werden und eine gute Zeit zu haben, zu lachen und den gegenwärtigen Moment zu genießen.

Das Team und weitere GastlehrerInnen

Für die Aufnahme in unser Team ist nicht nur der Lebenslauf ausschlaggebend, sondern auch die menschlichen Fähigkeiten und die persönliche Ausstrahlung. Auch unser Programm passt sich an die zutreffende Konstellation unseres Teams an. So kann es zeitweise neben unseren fixen Sprachen Deutsch, Spanisch, Englisch und Russisch zum Beispiel Informatik und Programmierer-Kurs, Italienisch, Französisch im Angebot geben. Auch Malen, Tanzen, Yoga und Pilates werden bei uns je nach Nachfrage unterrichtet. Hierfür engagieren wir GastlehrerInnen.

Außerdem werden gelegentlich Vorträge gehalten und wir verfügen auch über einen kleinen Raum, der für Massagen und Beauty-Behandlungen je nach Anfrage gebucht werden kann.

Unser Team ist flexibel und anpassungsfähig. Wir sind froh, einige Hürden wie zum Beispiel die Weltkrise 2020 überstanden zu haben. Wie man so schön auf Spanisch sagt: Al mal tiempo buena cara (dem schlechten Wetter positiv entgegenblicken).

Top individuelle Lernerfahrung auf hohem Niveau
Ich habe hier zwei Einzelstunden in Spanisch genommen als Vorbereitung auf meine eigene Lehrtätigkeit. Die zwei sehr netten Sprachlehrerinnen sind  genau auf meine Wünsche eingegangen: Konversation über und Reflexion der eigenen Lehrerinnen Rolle, didaktische Hinweise, Wiederholung anspruchsvoller Grammatikthemen (mit Blick auf Kommunikation im Unterricht). Alina es una profe encantadora! Su paciencia, su educación, su amabilidad y su dedicación al trabajo son las cosas que me enamoraron de esta Academia de idiomas! La Academia es un ambiente acogedor, parece estar entre amigos ya a partir del primer día, todos son muy educados y tienen buen rollo!
